Dylan participated in his first ever sporting event - School sports day at Vista Nova School, Cape Town, SA. We were so proud of him as he did everything with great determination

Today was Dylans 2nd Vista Nova sports day and once again he did us proud by participating in everything to the utmost of his ability. Being hearing impaired he was a little slow at the race start but caught up in no time

Dylan's last sports day at Vista Nova although we didn't know it at the time. He once again did really well and came in 2nd in his race - this against all 'able-bodied' boys.

Both boys did swimming training and had to swim 25 m to get their first badge. Dylan did very well and made the distance which took a lot of effort and determination

After only being in the UK for 2 months, Dylan played in his first ever football match. It was a friendly against a local team and he impressed us all with the little knowledge of the game he did have. Sadly he can not play in the league as he is old for his class

Dylan participated in his first sports day. In the junior school, they run heats during school hours and then only the finalists run in the races. Dylan had to do all the fun events and did really well. Although some things were a little tough.

I wrote to the football association and got special dispensation for Dylan to play in the football league in an age group below what he should be playing. He is now playing for the Westwood Hoops U10 side and loving every minute of it. Click on the link to have a look at his sides website. The username is theharrises and the password is pud
